  • Eco Council

The School Eco Council is made of children from each class who care about the school and the wider environment. The children meet half-termly with Miss Lawton and discuss what they would like to see happen in school and work together to promote and develop sustainability throughout our school so we can all be a little more eco-friendly. Over the course of the year, we will lead campaigns in the school to avoid waste, encourage recycling and save resources such as water and electricity. Another role of the Eco Council is to raise awareness within the school community of the ongoing climate crisis and the importance of looking after our environment.

    The role of the Eco-Council

    The Eco-Council is tasked with:

    • Ensuring that the whole school is aware of the Eco-Schools programme

    • Ensuring that everyone in the school community is represented in the decision-making process (as far as possible)

    • Providing a link between pupils, teachers, senior management team, governors and the whole school community

    • Taking the lead in delivering the Eco-Schools Action Plan
